Why a surf brand in Idaho?
My name is Robert, and I founded EVEN Riverboards because rivers have shaped my entire life. I grew up far from the ocean, but never far from moving water. The Boise River was my coastline. It taught me patience, power, seasonality, and respect. Rivers aren’t static — they rise with snowmelt, shrink in late summer, freeze, flood, change course. If you spend enough time around them, you start to understand that they’re alive.
As a kid, I admired surf brands like Quiksilver and Billabong. They represented freedom and connection to water. But I didn’t see rivers represented anywhere. Most people live closer to a river than they do an ocean. Yet rivers are often overlooked, overused, and under-protected.
EVEN was created to change that. This is the only surf-inspired brand dedicated to rivers — to the people who fish them, float them, paddle them, sit beside them, protect them, and depend on them.
